Our Riga city break was chosen as none of us had been there before and it was a bargain place to visit. I came here with the kids for a couple of nights and I didn’t really know much about the city.
Our Accomodation
We stayed in the Radisson Valdemara which was on the riverbank and a short work from the old town. The hotel was a great location and the rooms were ideal – large, well equipped and with good wifi. Breakfast was superb too!
Riga
I should have researched a bit better – we got here Sunday and spent the day ambling around, intending to do all the actual visiting Monday and dodging the showers. Monday the first place we went to was closed and that was a trend, Monday is the new Sunday here!
It is a very pretty city, lots of art nouveau buildings and some reconstructed medieval ones too. A Riga city break is ideal as the city is small, pedestrianised and a pleasure to wander around. There are some lovely cafes and parks and it is clean too.
